Closing ceremony of nuclear power engineering training course by VAEC - HUT - Toshiba .
The closing ceremony of the first training course on nuclear power engineering took place in Hanoi University of Technology (HUT) in November, 10th, 2006. The trainees are senior students of nuclear field and related areas of the HUT as well as young cadres working for VAEC, VARANSAC, and HUT.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Ha Duyen Tu, vice president of HUT; Mr. Vuong Huu Tan, Chairman of the VAEC; Mr. Yasuhara Igarashi, Vice Director of nuclear power system’s technical managemen ; cadres of related sides; lecturers; and 22 trainees.

This course held by VEAC, HUT, and Toshiba (Japan) followed the trilateral agreement on training cooperation signed in August, 25th, 2006. Toshiba provided 26 laptops and a projector for teaching and learning progress.

The first course lasted from October, 6th, 2006 to November, 10th, 2006 was taught by very experienced lecturers of VAEC and Japan with 28 class hours. At the end of the course, trainees took a test with contents covered all the lectures. 22 of 25 trainees received the certificate. 3 trainees with the highest result will be selected to visit power plants in Japan.

According to the training cooperation agreement, nuclear power engineering training course is planned to be held every year by VAEC –HUT –Toshiba. An important point of the agreement is the annual scholarship programs for HUT’s graduate and post graduate students in nuclear energy area. This joint training program is hoped to make a contribution to human resources development in the Vietnam’s future nuclear power program.
